“Try to render all possible service to others, not talking of the thing, but doing it. If you are known to be a person who loves to serve, many opportunities will come in your way, to your great inconvenience perhaps, but to your far greater profit and instruction.” – Mother Stuart
In addition to classroom study, other opportunities for spiritual involvement are provided. Masses, prayer services and yearly retreats are just a few of the activities Duchesne Academy offers.
Students are encouraged to participate as liturgical ministers (including lectors, Eucharistic ministers, servers and ushers/greeters), as well as with music ministry and liturgical dance. There are also ongoing service opportunities that are available for the students through homeroom announcements, daily announcements, etc.
Being more actively involved is possible by joining the Campus Ministry Team which meets the first and third Friday of the month. The group plans masses and other campus ministry activities.
Campus Ministry strives to create avenues for girls to put their “faith in action.”
Each year Duchesne students are required to volunteer in our community, serving the church, school and the marginalized in Omaha. The required hours are as follows: Freshmen 10 hours; Sophomores 15 hours; Juniors 20 hours; Seniors 25 hours.
