Remembering Sr. Fitzpatrick

On Sunday, March 26, the Duchesne community was privileged to host a Memorial Mass in honor of Sr. Joanne Fitzpatrick. The chapel at Duchesne was at near-capacity and included various generations of alumnae along with colleagues, past parents, and other special people in Joanne’s life. Duchesne principal, Dr. Laura Hickman, wrote and shared a beautiful reflection about Sr. Fitzpatrick’s life. If you were not able to attend the mass, you can read the reflection here.
Two specific projects have been identified to honor Sr. Fitzpatrick and the deep impact she had on so many. You are invited to make a gift in her honor in support of the following projects:
- renovation of an often-used meeting room and event space currently referred to as the Stuart Art Gallery. Along with redesigning the room (including new blinds, paint, carpeting, and décor), central air conditioning is being installed. Once this is completed, the room will formally be renamed in honor of Sr. Fitzpatrick including bearing her name
- Sr. Joanne Fitzpatrick Memorial Scholarship; funds will be invested in the permanent endowment and the interest earned will support an annual scholarship for a student whose family demonstrates financial need.
