“Nebraska by Heart” Project

The “Nebraska by Heart” statewide public art project is designed to help celebrate Nebraska’s 150th birthday. As part of that project, artists throughout the state were asked to submit designs to decorate large fiberglass heart sculptures to be sponsored and then the resulting sculptures would be displayed in Lincoln for the sesquicentennial celebration. The sculptures will be auctioned and moved to their permanent display location. Money raised through auction of the hearts will benefit Boys Hope Girls Hope and the Sadie Dog Fund.
Tom Quest’s design was juried to be one of the winning designs. Tom is sharing the project with Duchesne and students have been introduced to the project that is being decorated in the Duchesne building.
Included is a photo of Callie Bockart and artist Ann Willliams who are painting the sculpture.
